François Polarczyk

With a background in Organisational Psychology, François Polarczyk has recently focused his work on Partnerships and Sustainability, and successfully completed the Business Sustainability Management program from the University of Cambridge.As part of his current role at Accedo, a global video solutions provider, powering some of the world’s most impactful video-centric experiences - François is contributing to the Corporate Sustainability strategy of the company. He is also driving industry initiatives, such as the Sustainability Roundtable series, to brainstorm around experiments where Sustainability takes a central role - with the purpose to enhance the sustainability offerings of content providers and tech vendors from the OTT ecosystem.More recently, he has launched the Accedo’s Sustainable Marketplace, which aims to help customers and vendors to navigate the sustainability OTT landscape. Alongside Humans Not Robots, François is a project lead on the IBC ECOFLOW accelerator.

Kristan Bullett

Kristan is an experienced technical evangelist and the CEO of Humans Not Robots, a company he founded to address technology inefficiencies he observed in large media organisations.With over 20 years of experience in the media and broadcast industry, Kristan has worked with top-tier companies such as BSkyB, AT&T, BBC, Channel 4, Disney, and Liberty Global, helping them shape their over-the-top and online video strategies to become streaming front-runners.
Kristan’s technical acumen and strategic insights have been instrumental in driving the company’s success, making it a pioneer and leading provider of sustainability-focussed technology that enables media companies to build a cleaner digital future.

Tim Davis

Tim is the Principal Architect at ITV, driving innovation across the entire spectrum of TV production and distribution. With over 20 years of diverse experience in the broadcast and media industry, Tim has a comprehensive background that spans operations, support, design, and delivery. His expertise extends to strategic planning, product development, and project execution, making him a key figure in the transformation of media workflows.
Tim’s extensive experience covers a wide range of areas, including advertising, asset management, and media standards. He has played a pivotal role in optimising workflows, ensuring seamless playout and distribution, and enhancing staff development through targeted training initiatives. His deep understanding of the industry’s complexities and his ability to navigate both technical and strategic challenges have made him a trusted leader in shaping the future of media and broadcast technology.

James Varndell

James has built his career around video, helping media companies and video publishers to create great content and reach every viewer. In 2021 James joined Bitmovin and is Senior Director of Product Management for Bitmovin’s Playback product category. He focuses on bringing Playback to every device in outstanding quality, while delivering value to Bitmovin’s partners. Prior to joining Bitmovin, James held positions in product management and software engineering, playing an instrumental role in building software for media management and video editing.

Ian Nock

Ian Nock leads the Video Entertainment and TV consultancy Fairmile West, and he provides broad expertise in strategy, product, technology, and delivery through his consultancy at all levels and has been behind the launch of 20+ major video entertainment services across Europe on satellite, cable, IPTV and OTT since the late 90s. He is Vice Chair of the IET Media Technical Network and the Chair of the Ultra HD Forum Interoperability Group.

Ian is a member of the IET, SMPTE, IEEE BTS, and Fellow of the SCTE: The Society for Broadband Professionals.

Hemini Mehta

Dr Hemini Mehta is the Sustainability Lead at the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) where she leads several teams focused on sustainability for Public Service Media, Green Productions, Cloud Sustainability and Green AI. As Sustainability Rapporteur at International Telecommunications Union (ITU part of UN), Hemini has authored numerous articles and reports as well as organised and contributed to several conferences and events focused on sustainability in the media sector.

Lauren Shone

Lauren is part of the Offering and Portfolio Management team at Accedo, focusing on Portfolio Design.
With five years of experience with Accedo, she brings a design-driven perspective to product and portfolio strategy, with a particular focus on sustainability.

Ranjena Gohil

Ranjena is a Lead Project Manager at Channel 4, bringing over 20 years of experience in the media and broadcasting industry. She leads high-impact transformation projects that drive digital growth and unlock new revenue opportunities. Her expertise spans broadcast systems, digital media, workflow optimisation, process design, and complex change management.
In addition to her core role, Ranjena co-chairs 4Earth, Channel 4’s sustainability network—a volunteer-led group dedicated to promoting climate action and raising environmental awareness across the organisation.

Oualid Saddi

Chief Architect, Bouygues Telecom

Dr. Oualid SADDI is the Chief Architect of Bouygues Telecom's Connectivity and Video Services Department. In this role, he is responsible for innovation and urbanism within the department.
Prior to this, from 2007 to 2011, Oualid was involved in launching the Video On Demand service with Cezzer Multimedia Technologies, a French startup in collaboration with TF1Vision. From 2004 to 2007, Oualid worked on peer-to-peer traffic modeling at Orange Labs.

Ben Schwarz

Ben is a recognised international thought leader in sustainability and converging media. After ten years in IT, he became CTO of a music start-up. During the next ten years at Orange, he researched and launched media services, including IPTV. Since 2008, Ben has been independent consulting on strategy, business, communications and technology. He has penned over a dozen in-depth industry white papers and contributed to several blogs. Ben has worked within trade organisations since 2015, the most recent of which is Greening of Streaming, which he now runs. He lives in Paris.

Mathias Lacaud

Mathias Lacaud has been working in the field of optimization for multimedia content delivery for 10 years. He became the co-founder and CTO of QUANTEEC after defending his Ph.D. entitled “Towards pragmatic solutions to improve the quality of video streaming in current and future networks” at LaBRI/Bordeaux Computer Science Laboratory, 2020. He published more than 20 academic papers on multi-source, multi-CDN, and multi-path delivery. He is now an active member of SVTA and Greening of Streaming. His work in Quanteec made him win 4 awards in the past two years related to QUANTEEC's innovations, always emphasszing the “green” aspect.

Colin Phillips

Colin Phillips is an experienced professional in the broadcasting and technology sector, currently serving as a Council Member for the Digital TV Group since July 2023. With a career spanning over three decades, Colin has held significant roles including IPTV & CPE Solutions Architect at British Telecom since November 2010, where contributions have shaped modern TV delivery architectures. Previous positions include Product Line Manager/Solutions Architect at Nagravision, Solutions Architect at Tandberg Television and Ericsson, and Manager of TV Solutions at ntl and Virgin Media. Colin's early career involved pioneering work in video compression at IBA and R&D management at Sony Broadcast UK. Educational qualifications include a 2(i) degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Southampton. International experience includes a research stint at NHK Science & Technical Research Labs in Japan, where Colin gained fluency in Japanese and valuable insights into Asian culture.

Robert Seelinger

Robert Seeliger is a Video and Media Technology professional with more than 15 years of experience in international projects in the area of video solutions, streaming media, Dynamic Ad Insertion (DAI, CSAI, SSAI, DAS), HbbTV, ABR Streaming (MPEG DASH, HLS), SmartTV and related standardization activities. As Senior Project Manager, Robert is highly knowledgeable in managing complex technical projects and teams in a client facing role with broadcasters, operators and media technology companies. As DAI solutions lead, he is responsible for the technical product management and development of Fraunhofer FOKUS’ DAI and SSAI solution for MPEG DASH and HLS. Furthermore, he leads the development and improvement of the SmartTV and Future Applications and Media Lab - FOKUS' testbeds for innovative hybrid TV, advanced media services, and cutting-edge DAI solutions.
In his most recent role as Video Sustainability Lead, Robert has initiated the Green Streaming project and drives innovation for sustainable video and media technology.
Robert has published more than 30 technical papers covering topics like, Server-Side Ad Insertion for ABR media delivery in MPEG DASH and HLS, IPTV, interactive content, Smart and Hybrid-TV services, Energy-aware Encoding, Green Streaming, HbbTV and streaming ad-technology.

Michael Harrit

The BBC aims for excellence in sustainability and continues to pursue a deep decarbonisation strategy focusing on eliminating emissions at source. Michael is excited by transforming a business, its processes and technologies and is today focused on how technology delivers on environmental sustainability goals. Prior to the BBC, he was Marketing Director for Sony’s professional media business in Europe, where he joined after 4 years in Russia as Director of Multimedia for NTV.  
Michael started his career as Associate Professor at the Technical University of Denmark before heading up the R&D at the Danish National Broadcaster DR. As Chief Architect he was pivotal in the business and technology transformation when DR moved into their new media centre in Copenhagen. Michael holds an Executive MBA and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering.

Gijs Timmermans

RTL Netherlands is committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2030, and therefore focuses on understanding, measuring, and reducing the environmental footprint of video production and streaming activities. As part of this mission, RTL NL is actively participating in the Ecoflow project to mitigate the environmental impact of video infrastructure.Gijs Timmermans, as Project Manager for Sustainability, covers the integration of sustainable practices within RTL NL's operations and leverages its influence to promote environmental responsibility to the broader public.

Will Pickett

Will leads the DIMPACT initiative, an coalition of leading media and entertainment companies aligning the industry to identify the best solutions for reducing the environmental impact of serving digital media products. He is an Associate Director at SLR Consulting, a global sustainability consultancy, advising companies on the social and environmental challenges that they face.

Dom Robinson

Dom has been working with streaming and CDNs since his first webcast in 1996. He built a pioneering Multicast CDN in 2001 introducing M-BGP to the London Internet Exchange. Having put number 10, Glastonbury Festivals, and UK Parliament online with their first live video transmissions, he turned to focus on providing high-availability cloud native software solutions to CDNs and content publishers seeking to scale live streaming.

Since 2002 he has been a Contributing Editor to StreamingMedia.com, and in 2018 took over their Content Delivery Summit. Inspired by discussions there he setup Greening of Streaming in 2020 and since then the work involved has taken over most of his working week.Greening of Streaming is an industry group that seeks to improve the sustainability of streaming ecosystems. The group is a powerhouse of engineering work that has pioneered real-world energy measurement of streaming systems at scale. Its internationally award winning work has inspired a sector to take an interest in sustainability, and is fastidious about ensuring that any claims about impacts can be backed up by repeatable demonstrable measurement and engineering. The group has one rule of membership: ‘No Greenwashing’.

Jérémy Albouys

QUANTEEC, R&D Manager - Sustainability

Jérémy ALBOUYS-PERROIS is a PhD graduate in computer science currently serving as the R&D Sustainability Manager at QUANTEEC. In this role, he focuses on quantifying how the solutions developed by the company can help reduce energy consumption in streaming services.
Through his expertise and dedication, Jérémy is committed to advancing sustainable practices in the tech industry, ensuring that innovations contribute to a more energy-efficient future.
